MEET OUR TEAM

Scott McGarity

President

Scott is a member of Gainesville First United Methodist Church, where he attends regularly with his wife, Cami. Included among the couple’s proudest accomplishments are their children: Raleigh, Gracie and son-in-law, Colby. When not hard at work serving the clients he loves at McGarity’s Business Products, Scott can often be found outdoors in the Gainesville area either swinging a golf club or casting a line in hopes of catching “the big one.”

At the helm of McGarity’s Business Products since 1996, Scott McGarity virtually grew up in the office products industry. Following in the footsteps of his father – who had been in the industry since 1965 – Scott joined the family business following his graduation from Georgia Tech in 1983.  After years of working side-by-side, Scott acquired McGarity’s upon his father’s retirement.

In addition to providing products of uncompromised quality and unsurpassed levels of service to McGarity’s customers, Scott feels a certain sense of duty when it comes to the community that has been so supportive of his family’s company. Without question, he is proud to volunteer for many worthwhile organizations in the North Georgia community. Scott is a member of the Gainesville Kiwanis Club and serves on the Board of Directors for the Northeast Georgia Health System Foundation and Centerpoint (See Community – provide link back to Community on the Our Team page). Throughout the years, he has also played the role of youth coach and is currently part of the Gainesville High School football chain crew.

Cami McGarity

Marketing Manager

Cami has been associated with McGarity’s and the office products industry since she became a McGarity in 1983, when she married Scott. With a degree in journalism and an art background, she has worked behind the scenes in marketing for many years. Cami spurred the idea to change the company name from North Georgia Business Products to McGarity’s over 30 years ago and designed both the McGarity’s Logo and leprechaun that are in use today. In addition to volunteering in the community for many years, she just finished a four-year gubernatorial appointment as a consumer member on the State Medical Board.

Nancy Harkins

Office Manager

Another behind-the-scenes benefit to the team, Nancy Harkins serves as McGarity’s office manager. Nancy believes that what sets McGarity’s Business Products apart from the competition is that we are more experienced in the office supply and office furniture field than any other local company, offering the most knowledgeable and friendly customer service staff. Boasting more than 30 years in the industry, she should know!

Patti Bynum

Showroom Manager/Xerox® Administrator

Patti has been a cherished member of the McGarity’s team for 20 years and counting.  In addition to the crucial roles she plays behind the scenes to ensure a smooth operation, Patti orders the inventory for the showroom floor and processes and follows all other furniture orders that come through. She is also thoroughly familiar with the Xerox® side of our business and provides customer service and trouble shooting for not only those customers but also everyone else in our customer base.  Patti lives in Flowery Branch, where she enjoys cooking, spending time outdoors and being with family.

Will Hudson

Operations Manager

A loyal employee of McGarity’s since 1988, Will is an integral part of the management team and handles McGarity’s company operations. With three decades of industry knowledge to his credit, he is ideally qualified to serve as project manager on contract furniture jobs where he seamlessly juggles communications and scheduling. Well-versed in coordinating with contractors and installation crews, Will’s attention to detail helps to ensure the timely and efficient facilitation of each and every project – as well as the complete satisfaction of each and every customer.

Will lives in Gainesville with his wife Mary Ann and their twin sons, Jake and Trey. He is a member of First Baptist Church in Gainesville and volunteers with the Gainesville Athletic Club.

Colby Merchant

Upholstery Manager

Colby also married a McGarity, and is now a valued and trusted part of the family business.  As manager of the upholstery shop, he’s proud of the quality of the work provided, which is his number one goal. At the same time, he and the other craftsmen in our shop also provide good service, a competitive cost and speed in getting the job accomplished.  In fact, our turnaround time is what sets us apart from other upholsterers.  We can usually get your furniture upholstered in a matter of weeks versus a matter of months.

John Hayes III

Sales Representative

A proud member of the sales industry and our team for more than two decades, John Hayes III now serves as a Xerox Sales Agent, Analyst and Trainer at McGarity’s Business Products. In addition to Xerox equipment and supplies, John also represents Haworth Furniture and all of the furniture companies that fall under the rather large OFUSA umbrella. He is an advocate and shining example of the personal level of service that McGarity’s supplies to its customers, and likes the fact that he and his team members all live and work in the communities that we service. John is a member of Gainesville First United Methodist Church and the Rotary Club of South Forsyth.

Kyle Hinnant

Sales Representative

Bringing 20 years of industry experience to the table (nearly all of which has been at McGarity’s Business Products, we’re happy to say), Kyle Hinnant’s main areas of expertise lie in office supply and office furniture sales, as well as project management. He is proud of his role in helping customers in Northeast Georgia with their office supply and furniture needs. A believer in the importance of being involved with the community, Kyle is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Gainesville, and a board member for the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia, The Friends of the Parks, and the Salvation Army. A transplant from his hometown of Columbia, SC, Kyle earned a degree in Business Administration from The Citadel.

Damon Ellis

Sales Representative

For more than a dozen years, Damon Ellis has specialized in office furniture sales. He offers a practical and frugal approach to his customers in order to provide them with the best value with regard to investment and quality. His ultimate goal is for the customer to be pleased with the level of investment, surprised by the speed of delivery, and enamored by the installed product. Born and bred in the North Hall region of Gainesville – where he still resides today, Damon enjoys spending time with his daughter and girlfriend, attending services at New Bridge Baptist Church, and being a member of the North Hall Wrestling Club (Go Trojans!) One of his favorite pastimes is hiking the highest mountains and ridges in Georgia with his daughter. Together, the two have finished five of the top 10 and have their sights set on tackling the remaining five.

Tommy Davis

Sales Representative

After nearly 30 years in the industry, Tommy Davis’ story started in the stock room. Over the years, he has served as delivery driver, retail sales and customer service rep. He truly knows this business inside and out, and is a firm believer in the fact that McGarity’s dedication to providing a stellar customer service experience is what separates us from the competition. Tommy lives in Atlanta with his wife and two children. He is a member of Cascade United Methodist and serves the Juvenile Justice Center & Homeless Teens Ministry at Covenant House. When not hard at work serving customers at McGarity’s, Tommy likes to stay active by hiking, cycling, weight training and bowling.

Laurie Dudley Jones

Interior Designer/Senior Sales Consultant

With more than 35 years to her credit in office supplies, furniture specifications and sales, design and project management, space planning and CAD operations, Laurie Dudley Jones wears several hats on the job at McGarity’s Business Products. She is as adept at working with the rookie entrepreneur just getting their start as she is in dealing with our corporate, educational and governmental customers. Laurie is extremely detail-oriented, but where she really shines is in her interactions with customers. She seeks to provide them with the peace of mind of knowing that she has their best interests at heart and that their project is her top priority. Laurie lives in Athens – where the University of Georgia is her main customer. She attends Young Harris United Methodist Church and volunteers with the Interfaith Hospitality Network. She enjoys fundraising for Project Safe, Habitat for Humanity and local elementary schools.

Megan Lewis

Interior Designer/Sales Consultant

Armed with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the University of Georgia (where she graduated Cum Laude!), Megan Lewis is the perfect fit for McGarity’s Business Products and its customers. In addition to merchandising the showroom and managing our extensive library of catalogs and materials, Megan works closely with our team of Sales Representatives to find the ideal look to correspond with our clients’ needs and unique brands. Having grown up in Cumming, Megan is very familiar with the North Georgia community. When not hard at work, she can be found outdoors – particularly on Lake Lanier. She also enjoys spending time with her dogs and family.

Jackie Parker

Interior Designer/Senior Sales Consultant

In the business since 1997, Jackie excels in design and project management and serves clients in the education, healthcare and commercial arena.  She truly enjoys listening to and understanding her client’s needs and and then helping to make their vision come to life, while making the experience fun and easy.  Jackie values her relationships with her clients, and though relatively new to the McGarity’s team, she feels that her way of conducting business fits in perfectly with the McGarity’s model of putting their clients’ needs as the first priority which in turn leads to the development of long-term relationships.  Jackie lives with her family on a small 10-acre farm in Colbert, Georgia.  She attends Cornerstone Church where she enjoys volunteering in the two-year old class.  Jackie also volunteers at her children’s school, Athens Christian School.  Her favorite pastime is riding their horses, watching her son play varsity football and her daughters in their twirling competitions.
